Solar power reduces the carbon footprint of a popular drink

17/08/2023

Heineken has set a company-wide target of zero net carbon emissions from production by 2030. Another step towards this goal is the 412 kW solar power plant that has been generating electricity for the production facility of the Laško Union Brewery in Laško since the beginning of August.

We are proud that the brewery has chosen our energy contracting service, which allows customers to install a solar power plant on their own premises without any investment costs, as these are partly borne by us as the investor as well as partly co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union through the Cohesion Fund. With the energy contract, the customer secures electricity from a renewable and carbon-free source at an agreed price, thereby allowing them to accurately predict their energy expenditure in advance, while achieving their sustainability goals more quickly.
