From market signals to the right decisions
In Opatija, we successfully held the second GEN-I Partner Event Croatia, bringing together business partners, representatives of the corporate sector and energy experts. The event focused on energy transition, battery energy storage systems, energy price risk management, and the future of electricity and natural gas supply.

Energy transition as an opportunity for growth
The event was opened by Sandi Kavalič, Director of GEN-I Croatia, who emphasized the importance of trusted partnerships, expert advice and timely decision-making in a rapidly changing energy environment.

Maja Pokrovac, Director of the Renewable Energy Sources of Croatia association (OIEH), spoke about the energy transition and the development of renewable energy sources, highlighting their importance for Croatia’s energy security and competitiveness. Grgur Čepo, Key Account Manager at GEN-I Croatia, presented the role of battery energy storage systems in more efficient energy management, greater grid flexibility and the creation of new business opportunities.
Timely decisions create competitive advantage

Current developments in the energy markets were presented by Jaka Sečen, Head of Market and Portfolio Intelligence, who highlighted the impact of geopolitical developments, the natural gas market and the growth of renewable energy sources on energy prices. Davor Matotek, Key Account Manager at GEN-I Croatia, also emphasized the importance of timely decision-making and long-term energy portfolio management.
Integrated energy supply for the future
An important part of the event was the presentation of GEN-I Croatia’s planned entry into the natural gas supply market. Tomislav Marušić presented the vision of an integrated energy supply model that, from 2027 onwards, will enable business customers to combine electricity and natural gas supply with a single energy partner.
The event was concluded by Andrej Šajn, Deputy Director of GEN-I Croatia, who emphasized that, in the long term, the most successful companies will be those that recognize opportunities in renewable energy, battery storage and strategic energy supply management at the right time.

Through events like this, GEN-I continues to strengthen its dialogue with partners and create opportunities for exchanging knowledge, experience and best practices. The key message of the event was clear: the energy future will belong to those who can recognize market signals at the right time and turn them into the right business decisions.
