Slovenia goes solar with GEN-I Sonce

In GEN-I Sonce, we have established ourselves as Slovenia’s largest turnkey provider of solar power plants. To date, we have installed more than 11,000 solar power plants across the country, enabling households to access a clean and reliable source of energy, reduce their electricity supply costs, and enjoy the reassurance that their family has contributed to lowering emissions without compromising quality of life at home.

We have been building a greener future since 2017, when we installed our first solar power plant. Since then, electricity generation from solar energy has been steadily increasing.

Yearly growth in the number of solar power plants installed by GEN-I Sonce.

In 2018, 351 plants generated almost 3.650 MWh of electricity in total and helped reduce CO₂ emissions by more than 1.230 tonnes. By 2025, annual electricity generation had increased to almost 420.980 MWh, resulting in a cumulative reduction of more than 104.668 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

These results clearly confirm the key role of solar power plants in Slovenia’s sustainable energy transition and GEN-I Sonce’s commitment to creating a cleaner, more self-sufficient, and long-term sustainable energy future.
